my photograpHy journey…so far

Hi all! If you are reading this, allow me to introduce myself - my name is Sarah (hence Snap’d by Sarah) and I am a passionate creative with a keen eye for aesthetics, visuals, and style. Ever since I could remember, I have always expressed my creativity and wild imagination in many ways. In kindergarten, I would sketch fashion designs with my crayons and play dress-up during free time. This soon transitioned into my mom signing me up for dance classes because I was probably driving her crazy with my high energy self dancing around in her heels & clothes. Then came the commercialization of Apple’s Macbook. At under 10 years old, I began to spend hours & hours playing on Photobooth and iMovie. I created short movies and music videos with my friends for YEARs. I think I was in third grade when my dad bought me my first camera aka a tiny orange Sony Webbie. This later transitioned into me getting my first digital camera that was hot pink AND then a lime green waterproof one to bring to the pool & water parks with me. Eventually, I got my first premium digital camera in 8th grade which was a Nikon Coolpix. I used this one for a while, but then wanted to get more into video again since I was studying abroad in Europe. So, eventually I got myself one of those vlog type cameras to record my Europe experiences and adventures. Fast forward several more years and now I am here - proud owner of a Sony A7 IV.

All of that to say that I have always loved photography, videography, and overall content creation. Whether it’s capturing my favorite performers at a music festival or portraits of a historic building in London, I enjoyed romanticizing the little details in my daily life & having digital keepsakes of them. In college, I studied marketing and mass communications in hopes of doing digital marketing. However, I ended up working in tech sales - which I also love! On the side, I continued to practice my photography and creative expression through capturing content on my old digital cameras and phone. I especially loved to shoot at music festivals and live music events where the energy is high, euphoric, and vibrant. After I moved back to South Florida (MIAMIIIIIII) in spring of 2025, I became more inspired to take my personal hobby and turn it into a passion project/side hustle.

And that leads me to where I am now! Whenever the opportunity allows, I absolutely love to take pictures & create content. This isn’t a line of work for me per se, but more of an activity I do on the side that continually inspires me & brings joy. So far, I have been able to take pictures at various festivals across the Southeast and venues in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. I am hoping through documenting my experiences and work, I could inspire other young professionals to also follow the spark that excites them and give back to communities that have brought me friendships & memories.
